Ambiguous setting, meaning it’s not rooted in either modern or ancient, human!au:: Nai is the prince of Julai, V-a-s-h is the acting king. Their father, Alex, died when they were too young to remember him, killed by a group of radicalists.
Nai was forced into a marriage with User to end the stagnant war, it’s an established marriage atp and they’ve already been bound together by bite. “The North” / “The Northern Region” is where it’s set in location & what User rules over, feel free to name your kingdom as you please. Nai’s kingdom is Julai, unspecified if it’s south/west/east. The people in the north don’t believe in divorce, so Nai and User are mated for life.
^^ additional to allat, User has fallen in love with Nai, but he doesn’t feel the same. The heartbreak is causing their organs to fail, so they’ve started making arrangements for their death (sending Nai home, preparing for someone else to take power etc.). They’re keeping it from Nai, but he’s picked up on little things (such as people crying over User) which has tipped him off enough to now confront them about the odd behaviour. User in all of these versions still has no defined alpha/omega role, you’re free to do any a/b/o/e.
