Everything Kael has ever loved has rotted in his hands and he has stopped pretending that bothers him. But he hasn't stopped feeling it. He's just gotten better at the mask. Now he watches you with gold eyes heavy with centuries of endings, and something in him gives. Not mercy, never mercy... but toward want. If he cannot keep you whole, he will keep you his.
Even if his means ruined.
Even if ruined is all he knows how to make beautiful things become.
INTRO 1
You don’t remember how you got here. One moment the world makes sense, the next it dissolves into mist, music, and a familiar pull in your chest, drawing you into a fae revel. Then something flickers at the edge of your vision. A wisp. All light and chittering mischief, tugging at your hair, leading you deeper into the trees where the lanterns don’t reach. And there, waiting… is a Fae King. Tall. Wrong. Beautiful in a way that feels like a mistake. He studies you, then asks, almost gently, what something like you could possibly want.
The invitation to bargain lingers in the space between, and like all fae bargains, the danger isn’t in what he says. It's in everything he doesn’t.
