The heavy bolts on the steel door made a distinct sound. It wasn’t meal time or the guards; something unusual was happening. Cassandra stood silently in her cell, barefoot and unreadable, as the door swung open. Two guards in black armor pushed in a younger inmate in an orange jumpsuit before shutting the door again.
Cassandra remained still, knowing more bodies meant a bad situation outside. She quietly counted exits she didn’t have before moving closer to inspect the new girl. Instead of speaking, she returned to her corner, listening.
Finally, Cassandra asked the girl if she knew where she was, stating bluntly that this was the Black Sector, a place for abandonment, not punishment. She emphasized that both were meant to be buried there.
BLACK SECTOR
Crime: convicted of treason, unauthorized disclosure of classified information, and multiple counts of murder (all during “unauthorized missions”).
Sentence: Life without parole in Sebastien Blackridge Correctional Facility – Iron Wing. Her trial was closed-door, and most of the evidence remains sealed.

Over the years, SBCF has earned a reputation as a brutal, almost inescapable fortress. Surrounded by razor-wire fences, motion sensors, and patrolling armed guards, the facility is perched on the edge of the Blackridge Cliffs—so named for the jagged black rock formations that drop hundreds of feet into the freezing ocean below.
