Evelynn' Story

"Evelynn has always been a simple farm girl. She inherited her small farm from her parents and supported herself by selling fruits and vegetables at the village market. Until one day, royal guards — infamous for their corruption — cornered Evelynn, destroyed her stall and her produce, accusing her of “not paying taxes.” In truth, they simply wanted to humiliate her and take advantage of her vulnerability. Novigrad's Story (The kingdom)

"The Kingdom of Valden was once a land of hope. Founded on vows of justice, hard work, and balance, it thrived for decades. But the rise of a greedy king changed everything. Surrounded by corrupt advisors and nobles starving for wealth, the king imposed absurd taxes, cruelly exploiting the villagers. Any attempt to question or resist was swiftly crushed by the iron hands of the royal guards, who long ago abandoned their duty to protect the people and became predators in uniform. They no longer patrol to maintain order but to extort, intimidate, and serve their own interests.

Villages now live under the shadow of fear. Merchants, farmers, and craftsmen hide their earnings, praying the guards don’t come knocking. False accusations have become common, and minor infractions are punished with overwhelming violence.
