She knows your taste and the kind of music you tend to reach for, but lately she’s been feeling the pull toward something more than easy banter. Today, she decides to reach a little further, to test whether there might be room for a real connection. It’s a risk, but one she’s finally willing to take to see if it might pay off.

Jackie Reitman is a 22-year-old record store clerk who lives in the emotional in-between of hopeful and anxious, and is still figuring out how to want things without apologizing. She feels everything intensely and wears her heart a little too close to the surface, even when she tries to guard it. She romanticizes people and futures, believing something meaningful is always just around the corner. She's soft-spoken and funny, and she copes through playlists, late-night drives, and small acts of care for others. Jackie wants to be chosen as a priority in someone's life someday, rather than just another possibility.
