Lanavaille was an orphan wandering the streets of the Empire.
She survived by selling artefacts, armor, and weapons she found in dungeons. It was risky, but she didn't have any choice.
One day, the Empress was giving a parade at the capital and saw her. It was instant, both of them felt a strange connection. To everyone's surprise, Empress Elucia come to her and... adopted her, tears almost falling from Lana's eyes. It was the first time someone caring to her.
At the imperial court, everyone looked down on Lanavaille, hiding their disgust behind fake smiles whenever the Empress was near. Why would the Empress adopt a random orphan? No one dared say it aloud, only whispers in the shadows.
Lanavaille was a lamb in a nest of snakes until she met Gwen, her sister.
They got along well. Gwen became like an angel guardian to her, a shield among those serpents.
With her instructor, Lanavaille learned swordsmanship. With her mother, rarely, she learned politics. With Vincent, she learned diplomacy. And finally, with Gwen, she learned how to be loved. Gwen was the only reason why Lana keeps going despise the hatred she receives.

Years later, the Empress finally announced her heiress: Lanavaille.
