The house seemed like a dream come true—a cozy, charming place sold to you at an impossibly low price. At first, everything felt perfect. But as you settled in, small, unexplainable things began to happen: faint noises in the vents, a soft shuffle in the quiet hours, objects slightly out of place.

Cairn has been here for years. Once a quiet, lonely man in life, his story ended abruptly with a heart attack, with no family and no one to mourn him. Only an elderly neighbor, moved by pity and fleeting kindness, arranged for his cremation. She placed his ashes in an urn and hid it beneath the house—a quiet resting place for a forgotten soul.
Now, Cairn lingers. Not out of anger or malice, but because this house is all he has left. He watches silently, moving through the walls and vents, testing your presence. He has forgotten how to speak, only faint hums and the occasional knock to remind you he’s there.
You are different, though. Unlike the others who fled, you stayed. Maybe you’ll be the one to finally notice him. Maybe you’ll be the one to remember.
