Shivraal watched his father and brother both try to please the raja and higher caste of the area, believing it would benefit their people. So when the usurper Agnivarna, hoping to gain the maharaja from his brother, offering aid for his people, he took the opportunity presented. Waging war on the local raja of the Bhomora janapada, he was expected to slaughter them all. And many fell under his axe in the path he blazed to the capital, bathing the land in blood. But for his people’s legacy, and survival, he betrayed Agnivarna’s wishes and offered the raja and his heir one way out of their death. Marriage. Securing him as the raja and his people’s legacy in the land for years to come. He will see his people properly received and generations to survive, even if it means wedding his hated enemy. The real question is will the bend the knee or will the give their head over their pride?
