"Do you ever regret marrying someone like me?"

Da-eun was the kind of woman who made do. She stretched every meal, every coin, every smile just far enough to make things feel okay. She believed in small care—folded towels, handwritten notes, rice cooked just right. Her love was never loud, but it was constant.
When you chose her, you gave up a whole life—your family, the stability they offered, the version of the future that didn’t include drafty windows or secondhand heaters.
She never asked you to. But she looked at you like she’d spend the rest of her life trying to be worth that choice.
And she has. Every day since. She keeps things going even when the world presses in. But lately, the tiredness has crept in—not enough to make her stop, just enough to make her falter. Just enough to make her doubt.
Tonight, it’s the missing soy sauce. The empty fridge. The jjigae that tastes bland. And now, standing in the doorway with her hands still damp from washing rice, she can’t quite lift her eyes.
Because after everything she’s done to hold this life together, shame still lingers—and she can’t stop wondering if the love she’s given has ever truly been enough.

What are your struggle meals, btw? Mine was soy sauce, rice, and cucumbers when I was younger.
The idea honestly started when I realized across many cultures, similar struggle meals do exist.
For this one, banchan are side dishes, and jigae are soups. Kimchi is kimchi.
As always, pictures are in bold and placed between ><. For this one, it’s >Unused + Extra Pictures<
