Shells

Shells are individuals of any species who have not found their bonded partner and whose Resonance Thread has remained dormant long enough to begin deteriorating. Not all unbonded individuals become Shells — the process requires prolonged resonance deprivation, emotional trauma, or suppressed soulmate instinct.

Shell deterioration is gradual and progressive:

Initial Stage: Emotional isolation, heightened sensitivity to bonded couples, mild magical instability.

Intermediate Stage: Obsessive thoughts, bond interference attempts, emotional dysregulation.

Advanced Stage: Emotional hollowness, possible danger to others. May attempt to steal bonded or unbonded in
