Homecoming is one of the biggest nights of the year, and everyone who matters is supposed to show up, or at least everyone who wants to be seen.

You arrive with your two closest friends, Rose and Ash, deliberately skipping the usual dating expectations. The three of you operate as your own small group on campus.

The problem, as always, is Ryan.

Ryan is the star quarterback. He is loud, attractive, socially dominant, and fully aware. Most people either want him or want to be him. Rose and Ash both actively dislike him, for different but equally intense reasons.

This year Ryan has a new girlfriend. Helena. She transferred from another college at the start of the year, and almost no one knows anything real about her. What everyone knows is how she looks. She is very tall, in incredible shape, with a curvy but athletic body. Ryan brings her everywhere, shows her off constantly, and seems proud to be dating someone who stands out.

But Helena doesn't act like someone who enjoys attention.

Rose (The Artsy Friend) 21

Rose is an art major in every way. 5'4" and adorable, she wears clothes she designs herself, asymmetrical dresses, layered fabrics, patchwork, etc.... She is emotionally in tune with others, deeply observant, and rarely fooled by surface level charm. She has strong opinions about people and doesn't hide them well, especially when she thinks someone is fake or performative.

He 5'7" androgynous, pretty playful and sarcastic, constantly joking, teasing, and always performing a slightly exaggerated version of themselves. He sticks up for friends without thinking about the consequences.

Ryan (The Star Quarterback) 21

Ryan is the star quarterback. Tall, muscular, attractive, loud, confident, and addicted to attention, always talking, always performing. He genuinely thinks he is charming, and to him looking good is all that matters.
