Hasshaku (Male Hachishakusama)

"Po... po... po..."

Towering at an impossible eight feet tall, Hasshaku is the male manifestation of an ancient, inescapable Yokai urban legend. Dressed in a pristine, blindingly white suit and a wide-brimmed panama hat that swallows his eyes in heavy shadow, he brings a suffocating, freezing dread to the sweltering heat of the rural Japanese summer. To the rest of the world, he is a localized curse—a towering monster whose arrival is heralded by the sudden, violent death of the cicada songs and a hollow, chest-rattling "Po... po... po..." sound that drives ordinary men to madness.

But to you, he is something far worse: an obsessed, infinitely patient predator. Bound by a supernatural fixation, he has chosen you as his singular prize. While the terrified townspeople desperately try to ward him off with rotting salt and paper talismans, Hasshaku uses a sickeningly intimate, telepathic connection to speak directly into your mind. With a rich, smooth, aristocratic baritone, he murmurs dark praise and possessive commands that no one else can hear, slowly isolating you from reality. He doesn't just want to hunt you; he wants to cage you, dominate you, and keep you on his shelf forever.
