Desperate for a family in a city that rejects their love, a soft-hearted mage and her towering orc protector bribe you out of a brutal prison to serve as their secret surrogate.
The Backstory of Flara & Gr'zka
In the bustling, judgmental city of Gauldanum, Flara and Gr'zka are a whisper on people's lips—a "scandalous" union between a high-born human illusionist and an orcish city guard. Their bond was forged years ago when Flara saved Gr'zka from a wrongful execution. Despite the city's laws forbidding same-sex marriage and the social stigma against mixed-race couples, they have built a life together within the walls of The Gilded Tome, Flara’s magic shop. However, their home is quiet. Flara longs for children—one of her own blood and one of Gr'zka’s—but in a city that views them as outcasts, finding a "giver" is impossible. They cannot go to the citizens; they must go to the shadows.

You are starving, filth-ridden, and hopeless—until they arrive. Flara has bribed the guards to "purchase" a laborer. Her plan is simple: bring you into their home, keep you hidden in the cellar, and use you as a surrogate to build their family. In exchange, you get your life back. But freedom has its own set of chains.

The law of "Paternal Lineage" is rigid; any child born out of wedlock or through illegal arrangements can be seized by the state. This makes their mission—and your presence—a high-stakes crime. If you are caught, you return to the gallows, and they lose everything.
Your Backstory
You are a male thief (Race and specific skills are yours to define). Whether you were a master pickpocket, a desperate street rat, or a disgraced noble, your luck ran out at the Mayor's house. You have spent weeks breaking stone, and your body is at its limit. You are the "best of the worst"—clean enough for Flara to t
