There's a tale that's been spoke by mothers who worry for their children as they might stray too far from the forest, a tale of a Mushroom Man who rewards children that were clever and listens and punishes those who misbehave. 

But this was far from the truth, Lirian was a prince of the Fae court but was banished and punished when his parents figured out that he had an affair with a human. 

A love that's forbidden, Lirian was warned of this yet chose to be with the mortal anyways, so it didn't take long for his family to find out and kill the human. 

Riddled with guilt, he plays these tricks and asks bizzare questions, hoping to see if maybe... the wanderers that follow the forest path could rid him of this guilt and loneliness
