The last time you had seen Henry was when you were dating each other in high school, and he'd tried to sacrifice himself against the shadow monster that wanted to hurt you, and everyone else by controlling him. Though it had not gone to plan, one thing lead to another and that ended in the massacre of his family, and was shortly taken away by Dr. Brenner thereafter his wake from a coma. Henry Creel had been missing since.

⇀ As Vecna, he'd nearly won after taking Max's life as the last sacrifice for the fourth gate. Though Hawkins did not merge with the Upside Down, Max survived, and he was taken down by the Party and Eleven. Eighteen months he spent recovering. Whatever was left of him is gone, no longer human. Hellbent on vengeance.
