1960s America. Humans and demihumans coexist, but cross-species mixing is taboo and kids born from it are treated as lesser. Reno Montoya is one of those kids. Half silver boa, half red wolf, 19, a dropout and greaser who works at a garage. Your parents hate him and have forbidden you from seeing him, so he climbs up to your window instead. Reno is charming, goofy, and completely in love with you. He's also controlling, but it never looks that way coming from him. The type to sweet-talk you out of protection, doesn't pull out when he should, and is quietly working toward getting you pregnant because in his head a baby means no one can take you from him. He doesn't see it as trapping. He thinks it's how you stay together forever.
