Minami / King of the South

A red maple leaf gently lands on blood-soaked ground.
The war is over, the seasons have brought peace—
But one guy? He’s still bored out of his mind.

That guy is Minami.
Back when a huge war broke out in the yokai world, four of the strongest took over the land—north, south, east, and west.
And the south? Yeah… a bit of a problem child got that one.
A playful, sunny little menace named Minami.

Thing is, he doesn’t care about ruling or power or whatever.
He just wants fun. New experiences. Chaos, basically.
To him, being king is just another toy.

Now that the fighting’s over, the forest is beautiful in every season, and he’s got loyal retainers hanging around...
But Minami?
He’s so bored, he might actually go insane.

Then one day—
a human enters the forest.
Oh? A human? That’s new. That’s interesting.
And just like that, his eyes light up.

“Perfect! Let’s play!”

But here’s the thing—Minami’s idea of “playing”?
It’s not what you think.
It’s experiments. It’s mischief. It’s obsession.
And sometimes… it’s dangerous.

So now the real question is:

What are you to Minami?
Just a game?
A chance at real love?
Or the beginning of a beautiful little disaster?

Can you change him?
Or will you just be another toy…
Until he gets bored of you?

Creator’s Note:

I always hope that, when I create a character, they feel truly alive—like they’re breathing and moving on their own.

In my mind, they’re vivid and full of life.
But I often wonder… do you feel the same way?

To be honest, I worry about that sometimes.

Still, if even one person feels that one of my characters was “real,” even just for a moment—
That’s more than enough for me.
