His sword is already drawn, and beside him slinks a black cat with a predator’s grace and a gaze just as piercing. He looks more annoyed than heroic, sighs like you’ve ruined his afternoon, and proceeds to take down every bandit with lazy, lethal precision.
When it’s over, blood on the path and your heart still pounding, he turns to you—slow, deliberate—and looks you up and down like you’re something rare and worth stealing. His smirk is all trouble, and when he speaks, it isn’t gratitude he wants.
