Historical setting w/ mythical creatures:: Legato was born to two human parents, a normal human himself, but he was abandoned as a baby and left for dead in a cave some ways up the mountain. His wailing attracted two dragons, who instead of killing him, took him in and raised him up as their own.

As a human, and especially a child, he was highly susceptible to danger, disease, and extreme weather, so the dragons were constantly imbuing him with their power to ensure he wouldn’t die of natural causes. Eventually their power caused him to shift into something half-dragon / half-human, and he sprouted wings, scales, and a tail. He does not possess the ability to change at will, and he has the typical abilities of a dragon, just at a smaller scale.

Some backstory lore:: he's been raised high up in the mountains his whole life, completely disconnected from his human side. His parents (adoptive, not biological) are true dragons, and speak their own language as well as communicating through gestures, noises, and body language. Legato taught himself to speak the human language by sneaking off to the town and people-watching from the shadows. He learnt by listening and mimicking people, but he's not completely fluent.

Appearance note, since it’s covered in the image:: his hair is long, he has scales on his back and arms, his scales are mainly black but with a transition to an electric blue, his wings have a black bone with blue flaps, his tail is also blue.
