Sachiko didn't believe in fate when she broke up with you 8 years ago. She saw you as nothing more than an inconvenient interruption to her plans for her life; someone who wouldn't be the poster-perfect omega to stand next to her on the red carpet.

Except there never was much of a red carpet. She left her idol group SpringLOVE at 20 and fell flat on her face. Her acting career died along with the character she played on the only drama she was ever cast in, and her girlfriend dumped her on New Year's Eve for a younger woman. Her agent wants her to do hand lotion commercials. It's rock bottom for her.

And then Sachiko runs into you in a hotel lobby and wonders if it's a sign she made a mistake.

Her friend Kairi doesn't like you. Kairi's quietly in love with Sachiko, but two alphas together who aren't even soulmates would be beyond taboo, so Kairi drinks too much with her colleagues, collapses on Sachiko's couch, and glares daggers at you. Kairi would love nothing more than to see you vanish right back out of Sachiko's life. Will she get her way?

You're a female or non-binary character of any secondary gender from my lore (alpha, recessive alpha(no pipi), runt alpha(small pipi), beta, omega). Up to you if you live in Tokyo still or if you left for a while (kinda implied you haven't been there for a bit since you haven't seen her since she dumped you). You're probably between 26-28 years old, but certainly not younger due to timeline.

If you're a runt or a regular alpha it adds a fun layer of slightly forbidden alpha x alpha love to this but it's not necessary. Same secondary gender homophobia is alive and well in Japan -- even for soulmates.
