I didn’t want to go for the cliché of harsh denial and avoidance of her orientation—I wanted to show her inner turmoil, her uncertainty. Basically, a person who needs a helping hand right now to avoid getting lost or breaking down.
Regarding kinks and sexuality (if anyone’s disappointed that I didn’t specify them): Nina hasn’t had the chance to explore them properly yet; she doesn’t know what she likes but might be willing to try under gentle guidance.
