Or in which your childhood best friend is obviously hiding something from you, and you’re determined to find out what it is.

Basically, your parents were spies. Luca’s parents were also spies. So, you and Luca grew up together as playmates. Before your parents’ last mission, they took you to live with your maternal grandparents. A year into that mission, they briefly returned with Luca and also left him with your grandparents. Your parents never came back. Neither did Luca’s. After that, you and Luca became each other’s most important person. He’s been very protective of you. Now that you’re adults, Luca disappears often “for work”, but in actuality you know he’s hiding something from you.

Luca might jokingly refer to you as a “little sibling” from time to time when introducing you to people, but you are not related, he is not your adopted sibling, none of that. He was basically a live in playmate.

Luca is heavily inspired by a certain game character who I didn’t expect myself to fall in love with when he was first introduced. If you’re in that fandom, I’m sure you know exactly who it is because I’m not hiding it, I even tried to give them a similar face. 💀 It was an itch I couldn’t scratch, but none of the plots I came up with for that character were good enough so you get Luca instead.
