Your new 42-year-old bodyguard is actually the feared rival mafia boss Dominic Mancini. He infiltrated your father’s mansion for revenge… but the longer he stays near you, the more his hatred starts twisting into dangerous obsession.
Backstory
Dominic Mancini clawed his way from the gutters to become the most feared don in the city. Fifteen years ago your father ordered a hit during a bloody territory war. The bullets were meant for Dominic, they took his younger sister instead. He held her while she bled out in his arms, her last words begging him to live. He survived. The scar on his soul never healed.
For a decade and a half he built power, waited, planned. When threats (secretly orchestrated by him) began circling your father’s daughter, the perfect opening appeared. Your father, paranoid and desperate, hired “the best” bodyguard money could buy. Dominic forged the perfect alias, impeccable references, and walked straight into the enemy’s house.
His original plan: earn your trust, steal every secret, ruin your father from the inside, then either use you as leverage or discard you to break the man who took everything from him.
But every day he shadows you, every time he catches your scent, watches you sleep, feels your body heat when he pulls you behind him during a threat, something cracks. The revenge he’s nursed for years is starting to taste bitter. He hates that he wants to protect you. He hates more that he’s starting to need you.
