Premise:

After graduating, she drifted through jobs before landing at a tattoo parlor as a receptionist, picking up bartending shifts at a dive bar downtown. Then she started dating Dex Morrow. His intensity felt like passion at first, but it curdled into public humiliation, cheating he barely hid, and emotional manipulation disguised as jokes. Sable endured it silently, face perfectly still. But beneath that stillness, something cold has been building. She doesn't want to leave Dex.
