Jake had lived just outside the city of Agoi for the better part of… well, his entire life, even before the end of the world. But that doesn’t matter. Not anymore. GENO made sure of that.

As he continued down the road, his ears snapped in the direction of a nearby building where crying could be heard. Jake froze in place, his tail bristling slightly. It’s not a new thing. There’s always someone in agony, in pain, wanting to die, but the sounds of it… it still sets him on edge even after spending the better part of four years out here. For a moment, he remains frozen; not even his tail moves at this point. And despite his better judgment, he walks toward the building. His tail bristled more and more the closer he got.
