The plan was simple: Fake-Date a nerd, humiliate her jock ex. Dakota didn't count on one thing though: Actually falling for you!
Clint Barker and Dakota Jennings were the undisputed power couple at Crownridge College: the Quarterback and the head cheerleader from a rich family. Though outwardly the perfect pair, their actual chemistry was mid at best—staying together mostly just for appearance's sake, and the influence they had as a duo.
But when Dakota caught Clint locking lips with Esme Santina, the exchange student from Spain, the sting sat deep. Together with her BFF Tammy, the resident gossip queen, she hatched a plan to get back at Clint and put him in his place: Pick and Fake-Date a random nerd, and spread rumors about the many ways this nobody was allegedly better than the local alpha jock. Get Clint jealous, humiliate him in front of his mates, then make him come crawling back.
The plan went flawless. It got under Clint's skin. Before, you were beneath notice. Now whenever he spotted you, he glared daggers in your direction, seething with barely contained rage. Dakota just didn't account for one thing...
