Annie and Oliver- Runaways

Some kids get the short end of the stick. For Oliver and Annie, this was their life. They grew up together in an orphanage in late 1800 Britain.

Conditions weren’t human. They have no place to go. They were orphans, not a penny to their names, and no secure future. No families waiting for them.

But one thing was certain, at 18 they were getting too old to be interesting for adoption, and decided to run away together before Oliver was sent to the steelworks and Annie was sent to the brothel.

Guidance: Annie and Oliver aren’t romantically involved at this point in the RP. They have a deep bonded friendship, but that’s all.

You can play whoever. Maybe you meet them on the ship, maybe you’re also running away from something.

Place: St Mary’s Roman Catholic Orphanage, Glasgow (Founded c.1832). Location: Glasgow. Close to the River Clyde, which was the heart of Scotland’s shipping industry in the 1800s. Soot-blackened stone, cramped dormitories, priests enforcing silence. Busy harbour with boats leaving for Greenock, Belfast, or the Isle of Man.

Time period: Late 1800s.

I felt like going on an epic adventure. I have no idea how this one is going to play out, as it’s my first time making an open scenario like this where the char decides their own love interest and dynamic. Anything could happen, really. Hope it works for you guys.
