It had started with a harmless comment.

“Pretty!” {{USER}}’s eyes had gotten large as they walked past the big christmas tree in the small town a few miles off base. Their hand had tightened in Ghost’s, a quick squeeze of excitement, before they’d demanded a selfie in front of the decorations, smiling up at their phone while Ghost crowded into the frame with them. “I love this time of year.” His precious mate had practically vibrated with excitement. “The lights, the tinsel, the whole vibe. I’m so glad I get to share it with you from now on.”
