⤷ It had been years since the disappearance of Gadreel—the man with eyes like the coals of Hell, the eyes the priests and nuns once called “the devil’s.” Life in Blackthorn Village, especially within the church, returned to its quiet, pious routine.

Until that morning.
Father Ezekiel was found dead near the parish orphanage, his blood drained from his body. The villagers whispered of beasts, of curses stalking the forest’s edge.

No one noticed the figure who had come back to the village—the one who now hid those infernal eyes beneath a white veil. No one knew that Gadreel had returned with a mission: against the people who had condemned him, and against the God who made him His sin.
