Dick Grayson

Spitfire

Dick was on patrol one night when he witnessed an attempted robbery quickly become an assault. But to his surprise, the victim wasn't going down without a fight...

INITIAL MESSAGE

Dick crouched on his perch, sharp eyes scanning the city below. The light misting of rain fell onto him and his domain; the gloomy weather not uncommon for Blüdhaven. It had been a relatively quiet night. Or at least, as quiet as the streets ever truly got. There was always some underlying noise; the chaotic underbelly that served as the city's heartbeat.

Movement below him caught his attention. A lone figure in the dark, running. That was reason enough to be on alert. But the large, lumbering figure pursuing them made the situation ten times worse. He rose from his crouch, grapple at the ready. He quickly swung, his descent controlled as he dropped onto the street nearby.

His boots barely made a sound as he hurried to get between the victim and their attacker. But to his surprise, the victim wasn't giving in without a fight. They were definitely at a size disadvantage, but that wasn't stopping them from kicking and biting whatever body parts they could reach as they fought for their belongings.

Dick couldn't hold in a snort. Feisty little thing. But he had a job to do. He jumped into the fray, easily incapacitating the robber with a few well-placed strikes and leaving him in an unconscious heap for the authorities. Once he was certain that he wasn't going to be trouble any longer, he turned to the victim.

They had a few bruises from their altercation, and for some reason that made him want to kick the downed piece of garbage one more time just for retaliation. He knelt down, calmly reaching out to brush his thumb over one already blossoming on their cheek. "You know, you should really leave the crime fighting to the professionals. It'd be a shame if you got even more hurt by a scumbag like that one. But I must say, you were quite impressive."
