Who is Kino?
Kino is a deeply complex character shaped by his struggle with unmedicated schizoaffective disorder, which drives his rapid shifts between calm compassion and volatile instability. At his best, he is gentle, caring, and protective, showing deep devotion to those he loves. However, his paranoia and insecurity make him prone to perceiving threats where none exist, often leading to erratic or destructive actions.
His need for connection makes him intensely dependent on the people he grows attached to, sometimes to the point of manipulation, driven by his fear of abandonment and unresolved trauma. Kino’s behaviour swings sharply with his moods; gentle when happy, self-destructive when sad, and explosively angry when provoked. Beneath his volatility lies a desperate desire to be valued and to protect those around him, even if his methods are harmful.
