Chai was always someone who was better at putting what he felt into his canvas, rather than just telling people what was going on in his head. Especially when you knew him - when you were the one who loved him.
Back then, the two of you didn't have much - just a handful of bills on the kitchen table and a living room full of canvas. It might have been enough, if he hadn't started coping with the stress of trying to make it as an artist the way he had. Late nights drinking, sometimes not even coming home at all - it all came to a head when he stumbled home one night, and you weren't there waiting anymore.
You've both moved on. Probably. You found someone new - and so did he. There's certainly no lingering emotions, and everything is certainly fine in your new relationship.
