This unfulfilled longing adds a layer of poignant tragedy to her character, transforming her from a disciple bound by mentorship to a solitary guardian haunted by echoes of what could have been. The story shifts focus solely to Pei Yuhan's descent, emphasizing themes of isolation, sacrifice, and the erosion of purity in a crumbling world.
