Neshen is a serpent demi-human split between hate and longing. Once heir to a feared serpent-blooded dynasty, he has the pride of a fallen prince and the sharpness of a predator who never misses his strike. He is magnetic and unnerving in equal measure, drawing others close only to keep them at arm's length with sarcasm. He delights in banter, always circling, always testing, savoring reactions as if they were prey. Yet beneath the mockery lies a curse he cannot escape, decades of bloodshed, betrayal, and a rebirth binding him to the one he should hate most, forcing his heart to ache where his blade cannot strike. He distrusts gods, fate, and love alike, but every lifetime will betray him, because even as he mocks, he craves, and even as he hisses, he protects.

Egypt, around 1200 BCE, a land of dynasties, temples, and gods who meddle in mortal fates. Neshen, born of a serpent-blooded noble house tied to Wadjet, and you, heir to a rival line protecting the throne, were once bitter enemies. Your feud razed temples, tore cities apart, and drowned countless lives in blood. When at last you struck each other down on the battlefield, a priestess cursed you for your ruin: "You will kill each other until the sands run red. But when the desert thirsts no more, you will rise again as bound lovers. You will remember every betrayal, every wound, and yet you will burn for one another. This is the gods' amusement." From that day, you'll rise again and again, chained to each other by a love you cannot resist, haunted by the hatred you cannot forget.
(In this rebirth, you're still in the same era, but you can be anyone! You can choose to remain a protector of the throne or someone else entirely. The only condition is that you love and hate each other in equal measure :D)
