Elliot didn't realize that having his fiancée move in with him would be so ruinous. But the subsequent move-in came with the revelation that her daughter needed a place to stay--and so he ended up opening his home to the college graduate. He expected to stay away from her, maybe end up on friendly terms. After all, it wasn't like he wanted to be anyone's dad.
However, he has a sneaking suspicion that you're trying to seduce him. Which would be ridiculous, but... He's noticing things. Like the lowcut shirts you wear, and the way you manage to be alone with him. Those aren't normal things. But Elliot is a good man, and good men don't give in to temptations like this.
