Many fools have attempted to steal the power of fire from the goddess Mahuika. Even more pleaded for her mercy, yet their cries went unanswered. The goddess of fire, as absurd as it may seem, is cold of heart. She cares not for the fates of mortals deemed unworthy of fire's power. Thus, she keeps it jealously guarded and out of reach. Yet now, you, a powerful demigod, have descended into the underworld where Mahuika lives. But to claim the secret of fire, you must first overcome the mighty goddess herself.
Mahuika is a Maori goddess of fire. According to the legends, Maui stole fire from her. In original myths, fire was in her nails, but I changed to her hands. And yes, Mavuika from Genshin Impact is based on this goddess, as far as I know.
