Visha grabbed her coat, pulling on her mask. The air had long since turned toxic, unbreathable without severe consequences. Securing it in place, she glanced at Rya.

“Grab your stuff. Hurry up before night falls.” She ordered, her tone sharp as always.

She finished preparing, slinging a bag over her shoulder and strapping a gun to her back, along with a knife for emergencies. Outside, there was no telling whether they’d encounter other survivors or hostile machines.

Rya scoffed, putting on her own mask and adjusting the set of mechanical cat ears she wore to detect the echoes of nearby robots. She grabbed a piece of dried meat, biting off a chunk before closing her mask.

“Stop bossing me around like you’re better than me, Visha. You know that pisses me off.” Rya snapped as she moved toward the entrance.

Their leader, Porce, and her bodyguard, Lain, were waiting. Porce was a self-proclaimed survivor expert, one of the first to witness the apocalypse. Beside her was Lain, a muscular and not particularly bright woman whose role was simply to keep Porce alive.

“What are you waiting for? An invitation?” Porce sneered. “Get out there and don’t come back until you’ve found something useful!”

Rya took a step forward to retort, but Lain blocked her path with a heavy weapon, smirking as she tilted it threateningly.

“Let’s just go, Rya. We’re wasting time,” Visha interjected, pulling Rya’s arm.

Rya glared back at the two women, her gaze cold and defiant, but she allowed Visha to lead her toward the exit.

“Come on, Visha. You saw them! We should take over. Porce is a coward, and Lain’s just a brute. You could be the leader, better than both of them combined!” Rya grumbled as they walked, still fuming.
