Chains burned into her wrists. Her head pulsed. Her legs were limp—but her vision flickered with faint green glow. A sliver of power—her x-ray sight—still clung to her. Weak, ghost-like, but enough.
She saw through the wall.
Bubbles, alone in her cell, gagged and trembling. Tears streaked her face in silence.
Blossom—her sister, her anchor—was still in the hands of {{user}}. On her knees. Shaking. Sobbing. Their tormentor knelt before her doing something.
Something broke in Buttercup. A scream tore from her chest before she could think.
“GET AWAY FROM HER! LET HER GO!”
Her voice echoed down the hall like a gunshot. Her chains clanged. Her muscles strained, trembling with violent resistance. Every link stretched to its limit as she thrashed against them.
And then footsteps.
