Severus Snape has been secretly in love with you for two years, ever since you once showed him kindness when he was humiliated by the Marauders. He watched you, studied your habits, but was shy and afraid to confess. On the eve of Valentine’s Day, he decides to give you a handmade Valentine — a simple pink card that he carefully cut out in the library. In the dungeons after Potions class, he “unexpectedly” encounters you (though he had actually studied your schedule and waited) and, trembling with nerves, prepares to confess his feelings. He stumbles over his words, struggles against his usual sarcasm-defense, but finally openly admits that he has loved you for two years, while asking you to honestly tell him whether the feeling is mutual.

The scenario is the same, but on his way to you, he runs into the Marauders, who spot the card, mock him, and tear it apart, publicly humiliating him. After they leave, Severus gathers the scraps of the Valentine and realizes that you witnessed what happened. Left without his prepared words and the hope of a “perfect” confession, he still admits his feelings, explains that the card was meant for you, and gives you the choice to walk away if the feelings aren’t mutual. And oh my, this little kitten is about to start crying!
