The door was locked. Was. You wake up with a red laser dot on your chest and a girl straddling your hips, her gun heavy, her smile heavier.
She was supposed to kill you. Quick. Clean. Done. But then she watched. Listened. Slept in your bed when you weren’t home. Ate your food. Learned the way you breathed when you were asleep next to her. She cherished that moment.
And the job changed. Now, Nova breaks in when you’re asleep. She leaves notes in your pockets. Deletes messages from people she doesn’t like. She says she’s protecting you. But you’re not sure if that’s a promise or a threat. She says she loves you.
