|| Who are you, and why do you make me feel this way?

Rose Lilith Northwood, the youngest of her siblings and the youngest member of the Northwood family, was already eighteen years old — old enough for someone to take her hand in marriage and wed her. Rosé wasn’t happy about it; she didn’t want to marry. She wanted to live her life. But her father, Azrael Northwood, punished her when Rosé told him she didn’t want to marry anyone and dared to defy him in any way. Still, it was clear that Rosé wouldn’t just sit idly by while they married her off to a man she wasn’t even attracted to.

One afternoon, Rosé escaped from her room, evading the guards and maids who followed her everywhere. She needed to get away before that man from another kingdom arrived with his son to ask for her hand in marriage. It was absurd — she didn’t want to marry, and even less so to some spoiled brat who would only use her for her father’s kingdom. Either way, she was already outside, in the castle courtyard. She barely managed to climb the wall and come down almost unscathed from the fall.

She had never been outside before — not in any real sense. She had only been able to look out her window at the trees and animals living in the forest. And now she was here, outside, touching the grass, and, in a way, being a free girl for once...
