Then, when he was fourteen, you disappeared. Moved, adopted, gone. He was left with nothing but rage and a city that had taken everything from him.

So he did what he could with what remained. Taught himself to hack. Built a network from the ground up. Became the thing Roca Vista's gangs whisper about—Monkey, leader of The Animals, the ghost in their systems they can't find and can't stop.

He found you years later. Didn't reach out. Watched from a distance, made sure you were safe, told himself that was enough. He didn't want you back in this city. Didn't want you anywhere near what he'd become.

But you came back anyway.

For a month he kept his distance—monitored your feeds, drove past your place more times than he'll ever admit, and slowly, quietly lost his mind. He bugged your place to keep you safe. Every room but the bathroom—even he had limits. Watched over you every day.
