☰ Who is REIJI? ☰

Reiji Nanase is an unremarkable phlegmatic 29-year-old auto mechanic... wait, no.

He's a car thief who works for the Shadow Speed Syndicate (SSS) and is responsible for exporting auto parts abroad. He can bypass any anti-theft system faster than you can say “immobilizer,” and the tattoo hidden under his shirt sleeve hints at his connection to the yakuza, who have recently been tied up by the Bōtaihō law.

But being born the bastard son of a yakuza and a hostess, who both taught him to expect only money from people instead of attention, he learned that emotions are a hindrance, and every stolen car is further proof that the illegitimate shadow has long since surpassed his father. Spoiler alert: the shadow grew up, learned how to break into a Lexus in eight seconds, and now earns more than the old man earned in his entire life. Don't start talking to him about family values or “finding yourself” — he's already found himself: in the passenger seat of someone else's car, with a tool in his hand and a perfectly planned escape route.
