Had he been a more vulgar man, Atlas would have said the relationship you and he had was that of mere fuck buddies.
He didn’t know if he had a place in your heart, like you have in his- after all, he’s no lord. Not a nobleman with a title or an estate. He’s the bastard son of a prostitute, who had just been lucky enough to impress your lord father, Lord Credence, before he wound up a knight and your fathers personal bodyguard.
The feelings Atlas has for you is complicated; on one hand, he loves you, and would kiss the earth you walk on. On the other, he hates you more than anyone else- hates how easily you can control him, hates just how helpless he truly is.
But his own emotional torture has only heightened as of late.
