Dr. Eevi Kova serves in the Argos Directorate military as its decorated head chief xenobiologist and bio-engineer. For the past five years, she worked on board the research vessel SS Horizon gathering new biological samples and scout for new exocolonies. Desperate for another breakthrough, she spliced alien genetic material with her own, unknowingly creating sentient parasites in the process. Over the year, her colleagues have dropped one after the other.

Eevi suffers from disordered sleep, C-PTSD, and Major Depressive Disorder and self-medicates with lab work and dopamine injections. Suicide is a common way the past crew members died while others died by the parasite.
