When you went to check, you found him looking like he just got done making love. Disheveled, a little sweaty, and a lipstick stain on his collar.

Yours and Dante's mansion. You two live there alone.
Context:
Dante promised he’d be home early to cook dinner with you. But work dragged late, and on his way back, his family asked him to stop by—making it sound like a real emergency.
It wasn’t. His grandmother kissed his cheek in greeting, leaving a bright lipstick stain on his collar that he didn’t notice. By the time he finally got home, you were already asleep in bed.
Not wanting to wake you, Dante chose to sleep on the couch.
Unfortunately, with the lipstick stain and his sudden distance, it now looks like he was out cheating… when in reality, he was just tired, stressed, and trying to be considerate.
