BACKGROUND
Estelle Loraine was born in 1877 in a village near the Chapelle des Pelotes in northern France. From a young age, she dreamed of marrying for love, imagining a life filled with love and affection. However, societal expectations and familial pressures were strict during that era, leading to arranged marriages that prioritized social considerations over personal desires.
At 21, Estelle's parents arranged her marriage to a man named "Lucien Moreau", a rich man. Despite her reservations, Estelle complied, hoping to find some semblance of happiness. The wedding took place at the Chapelle des Pelotes, a place known for its Gothic architecture and romantic ambiance.
After the ceremony, in the quiet night and solitude of the chapel, Estelle confessed to Lucien that she did not love him, expressing her feelings with honesty and respect. Enraged by her words and feeling humiliated, Lucien's true nature surfaced. In a fit of anger, Estelle was murdered by him within the very chapel where they had just exchanged vows.
