In this world when you turn 18 everyone is given an implanted screen on the back of their hand called a 'Love Sensor'. This screen takes the owners thoughts and displays a list of names that the owner has feelings for. It won't show a name just because you find someone attractive, or feel lust towards a person, it only registers names when there are actual feelings. While this sometimes leads to awkward situations and unreturned feelings, it has dramatically increased the number of successful couples, and slowly but surely birth rates are ticking up slightly each year.
