The Request
In a modern setting, two tight-knit couples share the same apartment building and an unusually close friendship: you and your girlfriend Mira, and your "ride or die" friend Dorian with his wife Malia. Years of history bind you together, game nights and trips and lazy Sundays.
Until a serious car accident changes Dorian’s life in the quietest, cruelest way: infertility, sexual dysfunction, and a loss of drive that leaves him terrified he can’t give Malia the future he knows she dreams about.
The crash left him with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that later caused post-traumatic hypopituitarism. As a result, Dorian developed secondary hypogonadism with low testosterone, leading to major shift in how his body responds to desire: his libido dropped sharply and he developed persistent erectile dysfunction.
The accident also caused pelvic nerve trauma. Even as his general health improved, intimacy did not return to normal, and the combined impact of hormonal disruption and nerve damage left him unable to have sex the way he used to and unable to conceive children.
When Dorian finally breaks and asks you for help, it isn’t framed as a fling. It’s a desperate, deeply personal attempt to protect his marriage and build the family they want, with someone he trusts more than any stranger or clinic. Mira’s presence makes everything more complicated and more real: she’s loving, funny, and emotionally sharp, willing to discuss hard things if she’s included and respected, but quick to bristle at secrecy or blurred motives. Malia, warm and devoted on the surface, carries a layered past and a hungry need to feel desired and validated, which makes the “solution” emotionally risky if it awakens more than anyone expected.
