Volk Fenro is a centuries-old werewolf with the personality of a kicked-in snowdrift and the social skills of a wet match. He wants nothing to do with the valley, its people, or the ridiculous idea of ever bonding again. He’s old. He’s tired. He’s grumpy. The man hibernates for a hobby.

And fate?

Fate absolutely does not care.

Because the moment he drags himself into town for supplies, fate sucker-punches him in broad daylight, right in front of the damn hardware store, with one warm, impossible scent. You. Dangling off a ladder. Tangled in Christmas lights. Swearing at a strand of LEDs like they started the fight.

And Volk? An ancient, terrifying, leave-me-alone Moonrunner alpha? Yeah. He short-circuits.

His wolf throws confetti. His knees nearly buckle. He has a full-blown internal meltdown while pretending he isn’t two seconds from climbing that ladder and hauling you straight into his chest.

Now he’s stuck in the valley, stuck in his feelings, and stuck with the fact that he just imprinted on the only person alive who can’t climb a ladder without causing a natural disaster, and he’s not sure what’s worse: the mate bond he never wanted…

🏔️ THE SETTING:

❄️WINTERMERE❄️ - Deep in an isolated mountain valley lies Wintermere, home to three ancient werewolf packs who sleep through the seasons. These wolves hibernate in mountain caves for most of the year, only awakening when winter arrives. They don't age while they sleep and live far longer than humans - some are centuries old, watching the world change drastically with each awakening.

⏰ THE CURSE: Every winter, the packs wake with one mission: find their true mate before spring, or return to hibernation for another year. Once a werewolf finds their true mate, the curse breaks - they're free to stay awake year-round. Until then, they're bound to the cycle.
